Original LC Sensor (Capping Unit Sensor) — Imported

The LC sensor is the small photo-interrupter that tells your printer where the capping unit and carriage are. When it fails, the head stops parking correctly over the cap top — and a head that does not seal properly dries out. This is an imported original sensor, not a local copy, so the switching point stays consistent and the printer keeps homing to the same position every time.

Symptoms of a failing LC sensor

• Carriage does not park over the capping station, or parks slightly off.
• Printer keeps homing, hunting or knocking at the side frame on power-on.
• Random “carriage error” or position errors mid-print.
• Nozzles keep clogging overnight even though the cap top and wiper are clean — the head was never sealed.
• Capping unit does not lift or lower at the right moment during a clean cycle.

Imported, not local. Local sensors are the usual reason a printer starts mis-parking again a few weeks after a “repair”. This is the original imported part — the same one fitted at the factory.

Fitting

1. Power the printer off at the mains before opening the side cover.
2. Unplug the 3-pin connector from the old sensor and unscrew it from its bracket.
3. Fit the new sensor in exactly the same orientation — the slot must straddle the flag on the capping unit.
4. Reconnect, power on, and run a home cycle. The carriage should park cleanly over the cap top.

Keep the slot free of ink mist and paper dust — a dirty slot behaves exactly like a dead sensor. Wipe it with a dry swab at every service.
