Capping Unit for I3200 Head — Imported

The capping unit is the rubber-lipped cap that the I3200 head parks on whenever the printer is idle. It seals the nozzle plate, holds the vacuum during a clean cycle and keeps ink from drying in the nozzles overnight. A worn cap is the single most common reason an I3200 head starts dropping nozzles even though the ink and the wiper are fine. This is an imported capping unit made from high-quality material, so the lip stays soft, flat and sealing — not a local copy that hardens in a few weeks.

Fits any I3200 head

One part for every I3200 printhead variant (I3200-A1, I3200-E1, I3200-U1 and the rest), on DTF, UV and UV DTF machines. If your printer runs an I3200 head, this cap fits it. Single-head and multi-head machines take one cap per head.

Signs the capping unit needs replacing

• Nozzles missing every morning even after a good clean the night before — the head was never sealed.
• Head cleans do not pull ink any more, or pull unevenly across the nozzle rows (the cap no longer holds vacuum).
• The cap lip is cracked, hardened, flattened or ink-crusted and no longer sits level.
• Ink is leaking from the cap station or the waste line stays dry during a clean.
• Streaks and banding that come back a few hours after every clean.

Imported, not local. A cheap cap looks identical on day one. The difference shows in week three, when the rubber hardens, the seal fails and the head starts clogging again — and an I3200 head costs far more than a cap. Fit the right part once.

Fitting

1. Power the printer off at the mains and move the carriage away from the cap station.
2. Pull the waste-ink tube off the old cap and lift the cap out of its holder (two clips or two screws, depending on the machine).
3. Seat the new cap in the holder, reconnect the waste tube and check the lip is level with the old one.
4. Power on, home the carriage and run one head clean. The cap should hold vacuum and the waste line should pull ink.

Wipe the cap lip with a lint-free swab and cleaning solution at every service. Replace the wiper blade at the same time if it is worn — a new cap with an old wiper is half a repair.
