JapX Supersoft Black TPU Hotmelt Powder — 1 kg
Black hotmelt adhesive powder for DTF printing, made from 100% TPU. It is used exactly like white powder — shake it over the freshly printed film, cure, and press — but because the adhesive layer itself is black, it disappears into dark garments instead of showing up as a pale frame around the design.
Why choose black powder over white
- No white halo on dark garments. With white powder, any adhesive that sits slightly beyond the ink edge shows as a light outline around the transfer. Black powder is invisible on black, navy and other dark fabrics.
- Cleaner fine detail. Thin text, thin outlines and intricate logos read sharper on dark fabric, because a stray rim of white adhesive no longer thickens every edge.
- More forgiving application. Slightly uneven shaking or a little excess powder around the edges is far less visible, so more prints pass QC on dark garments.
- Tidier trimmed transfers. When gang sheets are cut close to the design, the cut edge does not flash white against a dark shirt.
- Same bond, same feel. It is the same 100% TPU supersoft chemistry as our white powder — identical curing and pressing, soft stretchable hand, and wash durability.
When to still use white powder: on white and light-coloured garments. There the adhesive edge would be the darker one, so white powder stays the safer choice — use our 1 kg 100% TPU powder or the Supersoft Latex TPU for those jobs. Most print shops keep both and pick by garment colour.
How to use
- Print your design on DTF film with a white ink underbase as usual.
- Apply the powder evenly over the wet ink, then tip off the excess while it is still wet.
- Cure until the powder is fully melted and glossy — either in an oven or with a heat press held just above the film.
- Press onto the garment, then peel as per your film (hot or cold peel).
Use your usual curing and pressing settings — nothing changes when you switch from white to black powder. Always test on a sample garment first.
Supplied in a sealed 1 kg pack. Store dry and sealed; hotmelt powder absorbs moisture from humid air, which is the usual cause of poor adhesion.
